Stage Tape, Gaffer, Theatrical and Spike Tape

Gaffers Tape, also known as Stage or Spike Tape, is similar to duct tape in strength and color, but leaves no residue when removed and reflects virtually no light. This is extremely useful in theatrical, dance, and gymnasium environments where you want to mark your floor, but also protect it from sticky and hard to remove residue. Gaffers Tape is known for it's main use, which is taping down stage equipment and wires while maintaining low visibility. It conforms well to irregular surfaces and will not twist or curl when unwinding. Our gaffers tape has an excellent resistance to water, vapors and abrasions. You can expect a clean removal from most surfaces with our gaffers tape, depending on the surface type and dwell time of the applied tape.

We offer two types of gaffers tapes:

• Low Gloss Gaffers Tape - This type of gaffers tape has a high quality, low gloss finish film on the non-adhesive side of the tape to minimize and chance of light reflection. This tape is more commonly used as Gym Floor Tape, Carpet Tape and to secure wires where their is foot traffic. This is also good for marking placements (spike tape).

• Matte Finish Gaffers Tape - The backing on this form of gaffers tape is extremely well made, consisting of a vinyl coated cotton cloth imbued with a light absorbing matte finish. This version of gaffers tape comes in fewer colors, but is a premium among it's brethren. Mainly used in professional and entertainment stages where lighting is crucial. It is good for marking placements (spike tape), holding down wires, taping props together, and stage set-ups.

Gaffers tape is also hand tear able, eliminating the twisted tape and mess associated with other types of tape. With a range from 1/2" all the way to 6" and a standard length of 60 yards, PTI offers you the best in selection when it comes to Gaffers Tape.
