Teflon tapes, also called heat sealing tape or non-stick tape, are mainly used when working with a bag or vacuum sealer. These tapes are covered in a compound called Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) which is the substance you find in many non-stick applications. When the sealer clamps down and cuts the bag, a heated wire seals one edge of the plastic. As you can imagine, that could get very messy for the wire and area where the plastic is melted. However, with PTFE Teflon Tapes, the melted bags and pouches do not stick to the heating wire.

4 MIL Non Reinforced Teflon Tape
This is a skived and non reinforced ptfe teflon tape. Being thin at 4 MILs, This tape has an extremely low friction rate for friction reduction.

Best suited for electrical applications as a harness / coil wraps & separators, slot liners and transformers where insulation and heat resistance are imperative. Can also prove to be useful in applications like heat sealing bars, labeling pressure pads, friction reduction devices, bearings, aircraft mold release & guide rails where high temperature, maximum slip and lubricity are required.

Reinforced Teflon Tape
This type of Teflon tape has fiberglass reinforcements impregnated directly into the teflon. This is to increase the durability and toughness of the tape in demanding applications.

Such uses would be in an industrialized heat sealing machine or any other type of sealing machine where an element or wire can become heated. This tape prevents the plastic from sticking to the heated part, thus having little to no cleanup, keeping your production line running smoothly.

Zoned Teflon Tape
This type of PTFE tape typically has a middle portion of the tape that is without an adhesive, while being surrounded by adhesive strips on each side.

This tape is beneficial for covering heating wires, elements, other piece that heated to a red hot point in heat sealing lines.
